Can-Conditioned Spelt Saison
6% ABV
Tasting Notes: Peach Leaves, White pepper, Proofing Bread Dough, Juicy Fruit, Green Banana
Saison represents not only a style of beer, but an approach to brewing. Historically, saison was brewed on a farm using whatever grain was around, some malted, some raw with funky, natural elements. We named this beer Closer To the Point to tie our little urban brewery to the essence of this style: local ancient grains sourced from great farms, brought to life through flavor.
We've brewed this beer before, and this is the first time that we're releasing a can-conditioned counterpart. Unlike the bottled version, this batch of spelt saison was not oak-aged, nor was it aged with a mixed culture. It's perfectly balanced, dry yet substantial, with notes of cracked pepper, dandelion and spring herbs. Can conditioning lends a slightly higher carbonation and those high-tone tiny bubbles that hit so right. This is the ultimate spring beer- dare we say, beverage- hands down.
What more can we say? Spelt just hits different. Closer To The Point derives its layered, flavorful, and complex profile from grains lovingly sourced from Thrall Family Malt in Connecticut, yet remains balanced and precise. For fans of our own Table Beer, lagers, and classic, easy-drinking beers.
